Care Groups run from September through May and are located in homes throughout Lucas, Allen & McKinney. You may want to visit different Care Groups to find the one that’s right for you! There is a BREAK for the summer months. During this time we will gather together every Sunday evening for a special series and prayer as a large group at the church, allowing for families to enjoy vacations and the leaders to be refreshed and renewed.
John 15:8
“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
Care Groups are small groups of people building healthy and biblical relationships with God and each other. They commit to meeting together regularly for prayer, worship, personal accountabilityand applying Biblical principles in everyday life.
John 8:31-32
“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Care Groups can challenge us to leave our natural comfort zones. It’s much easier to simply attend the worship service on Sunday morning than it is to make ourselves vulnerable and accountable to one another on a regular basis. Being available for one another however, is the basis for the kind of life Jesus wants us to live.
John 13:34-35
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Care Groups basic idea is that of transparency in order to create a group of people who have a heart for making each other feel welcome and comfortable. While interacting and sharing time with one another, in essence, fellowship and fun. The goal is to continually be growing in our personal lives through Christ’s example by grasping the Word and passing this along to others utilizing a path of spiritual maturity and discipleship. In other words, exampling the early church modeled in the book of Acts.
