Beliefs
We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe it is infallible, inerrant, and eternally reliable in all matters of Christian faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16,17).
We believe there is one God, Creator of all, who is infinitely perfect and eternally subsistent in the persons of God the Father, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:6; Psalm 90:1,2; Matthew 3:16,17).
We affirm the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His soon return to gather His saints, and His physical, visible return to earth to reign in power and glory (Isaiah 7:14; Mark 6:30-44; I Peter 1:18-19; Matthew 28:1-10; Acts 1:9; Acts 2:22-23; John 14:2,3; Hebrews 4:15; and I Thessalonians 4:15-17).
We believe that “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9). We believe that salvation is by grace, through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ alone. To become a Christian, one must confess and repent of sin to God, turn toward God, have faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. God’s purpose for human history is to redeem and transform all mankind, male and female, into his image through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-10; Luke 24:46,47; Romans 3:21,22; John 3:3-6; II Corinthians 5:17,19).
We believe that baptism is an act of obedience in submission to our Lord Jesus Christ. We practice baptism by immersion, but we will accept a new member’s previous baptism if it truly demonstrates his or her new life in Christ Jesus (Matthew 28:19).
We affirm that the Lord’s Supper is provided for all believers in Christ Jesus. We believe this communion should be served as an act of worship on a regular basis as a reminder of our Lord’s sacrifice for sin (Luke 22:14-20; Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 11:23-26).
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost – those that are saved to the resurrection of life, and those that are lost to isolation from the living God in hell (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:1-15).
We affirm the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, Christians are empowered to live a Godly life for the purpose of witnessing, teaching, counseling God’s family, and bearing fruit. We believe the Holy Spirit gifts the church for service with all the gifts manifested in the early church. We affirm that the Holy Spirit provides one or more spiritual gifts to all believers, manifesting them as He wills (Romans 12; I Corinthians 13). We believe the Holy Spirit convicts sinners and pours out his love into the hearts of the redeemed. We affirm that every believer must be filled continually with the Holy Spirit in order to live the victorious Christian life (Ephesians 5:18).
We believe in the one universal church which is the Body of Christ. We affirm all who are born again as believers in Christ as its members. We affirm the gifts found in Ephesians 4:11 are divinely appointed for the establishment and nurturing of the church. We affirm the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 12:12,13; Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 4:1-6,11).
We affirm our confidence in the ultimate victory of Christ’s Church over the rulers of the darkness of this world (Matthew 16:18; II Corinthians 10:3-5; Ephesians 6:10-12).
